Refund & Cancellation Policy
1. Nature of Service
SoulScript Legacy provides fully personalised, made-to-order literary services. Each order involves custom writing, creative interpretation, editing, and production. As such, our services are not standard off-the-shelf products.
2. No-Refund Principle (Post-Commencement)
Once writing or creative work has commenced on an order, the service is considered in progress and the order becomes non-refundable by default due to the bespoke nature of the work.
Dissatisfaction with writing style, narrative direction, creative interpretation, or subjective expectations does not constitute grounds for a refund.
3. Pre-Work Stage Refunds (Discretionary)
If full payment has been made but project work has not commenced and no story intake has begun, a refund may be considered in exceptional circumstances such as verified personal emergencies or significant unforeseen life events. Approval of such refunds is at the sole discretion of SoulScript Legacy.
3A. Story Intake & Slot Reservation (Pre-Writing Stage) Once a customer has begun sharing their story, inputs, or materials, the project is considered initiated at the intake stage, and a writing slot is reserved. At this stage, orders are non-refundable by default. However, in exceptional cases involving genuine and verifiable urgent circumstances (such as serious personal emergencies or unforeseen critical situations), a partial refund may be considered at the sole discretion of SoulScript Legacy. If approved: A standard deduction of 30% of the total order value will be applied towards onboarding, coordination, and slot reservation costs. Please note: Change of mind, loss of interest, or delays in sharing the story do not qualify as valid reasons Refunds at this stage are not guaranteed and are subject to internal review All decisions made by SoulScript Legacy shall be final
4. Partial Refunds Upon Termination
If a project is terminated after work has commenced due to client misconduct, policy violations, non-payment, or operational risk, any refund (if applicable) shall be calculated proportionally based on the stage of completion, resources utilized, and time invested.
Indicative caps (not guaranteed):
- If the manuscript has been fully written: up to 55% of the total amount paid may be refunded.
- If both manuscript and cover design have been completed: up to 50% of the total amount paid may be refunded.
- For partially completed projects: refunds may be adjusted proportionally based on work completed.
These caps are indicative maximums and not entitlements. Actual refunds may be lower or denied depending on circumstances.
5. Chargebacks, Payment Disputes & Abuse
Initiating a chargeback, payment reversal, or payment dispute without first contacting SoulScript Legacy for resolution may be treated as policy abuse. We reserve the right to suspend services, withhold deliverables pending resolution, and contest chargebacks with supporting evidence.
6. Non-Delivery Due to Client Factors
Refunds will not be issued for delays or non-delivery resulting from client-side factors, including but not limited to: unresponsiveness, delayed inputs, incorrect address details, refusal to accept delivery, or unavailability at the time of courier attempt.
7. Processing Timelines
Approved refunds (if any) are processed through the original payment method. Processing timelines are subject to banking and payment gateway policies and may take 5–14 business days or longer depending on the channel. SoulScript Legacy maintains a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or disrespectful communication toward our team or partners. If a customer engages in such conduct, we reserve the right to immediately suspend communication and/or terminate the service. Any goodwill compensation offered at our discretion (including partial refunds, expedited delivery, upgrades, or freebies) may be withdrawn or cancelled if the customer violates this policy. This does not affect any non-waivable rights available under applicable law.
8. Finality of Decisions
All refund decisions are final, subject to applicable consumer protection laws. SoulScript Legacy reserves the right to decline refunds in cases involving fraud, misrepresentation, policy abuse, or intentional disruption of workflow.
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Refund Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
