Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Nature of Service

SoulScript Legacy provides fully personalised, made-to-order literary services. Each order involves custom writing, creative interpretation, editing, and production. By their nature, personalised products cannot be cancelled or refunded once production has begun, save for the limited circumstances described below.

2. The 7-Day Cancellation Window

All cancellation and refund requests must be raised in writing within 7 calendar days of booking. After this 7-day window, all payments are non-refundable regardless of the order's stage of completion.

This window allows genuine cancellers a clear and fair exit, while protecting the writers, designers, and operations team who begin work shortly after booking.

3. Refund Structure (Within the 7-Day Window)

Refunds within the 7-day window are calculated based on the stage of the order at the time the cancellation request is received:

3A. Before writing has begun: If no story intake has started and no writer has been assigned, a refund is processed after deducting a non-refundable booking and processing fee of ₹600. This fee covers acquisition, payment gateway charges, coordination, and writer slot allocation costs already incurred.

3B. After writing has begun, before manuscript and cover are completed: A 30% refund of the amount paid by the customer is offered. The remaining 70% covers writer labour, coordination, design preliminaries, and operational costs already invested in the project.

3C. After manuscript and cover are completed: No monetary refund is offered. However, free revisions are provided to correct any factual errors, misprints, or inaccuracies in the manuscript when compared against what the client originally shared. If significant rewriting is required beyond such corrections, it can be accommodated as a paid add-on.

3D. After dispatch: All sales are final. No refunds, returns, or exchanges are offered once the order has been dispatched, except in cases of manufacturing defects covered under Section 5.

4. Subjective Dissatisfaction

Dissatisfaction with writing style, narrative direction, creative interpretation, or other subjective expectations does not constitute grounds for a refund. For such concerns, the free revisions process described in Section 3C is the appropriate resolution path.

5. Defective or Damaged Products

If the delivered book has a manufacturing defect or arrives damaged due to printing or shipping, please report the issue with photographs within 7 days of delivery. Verified defects will be resolved through a free reprint and reshipment at no additional cost. This applies only to defects caused by the printer or carrier, not to subjective concerns about the content.

6. Non-Delivery Due to Client Factors

Refunds will not be issued for delays or non-delivery resulting from client-side factors, including but not limited to: unresponsiveness, delayed inputs, incorrect address details, refusal to accept delivery, or unavailability at the time of courier attempt.

7. Digital-Only Orders

Orders placed for digital deliverables only (such as PDF-only orders without a printed book) require 100% payment upfront and are non-refundable once the digital file has been shared with the customer. The 7-day cancellation window applies only before the digital file has been delivered.

8. Add-Ons and Upgrades

All paid add-ons (such as expedited delivery, photo upgrades, custom packaging, or additional copies) are non-refundable once production on that specific add-on has begun, regardless of the stage of the main order.

9. Chargebacks, Payment Disputes & Abuse

Initiating a chargeback, payment reversal, or payment dispute without first contacting SoulScript Legacy for resolution may be treated as policy abuse. We reserve the right to suspend services, withhold deliverables pending resolution, and contest chargebacks with supporting evidence.

SoulScript Legacy maintains a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or disrespectful communication toward our team or partners. If a customer engages in such conduct, we reserve the right to immediately suspend communication and/or terminate the service. Any goodwill compensation offered at our discretion may be withdrawn if this policy is violated.

10. Processing Timelines

Approved refunds are processed through the original payment method. Processing timelines are subject to banking and payment gateway policies and may take 5–14 business days, or longer depending on the channel.

11. Finality of Decisions

All refund decisions are final, subject to applicable consumer protection laws. SoulScript Legacy reserves the right to decline refunds in cases involving fraud, misrepresentation, policy abuse, or intentional disruption of workflow.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Refund Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
